Welcome apprentices!

Welcome to the beginning of your learning journey. The following list of learning resources cover the fundamentals of working as a public servant in a digital age.

Completing the entire learning path will take you approximately 18 hours in total. It is recommended that you complete it within your first 30 days in the program.

Note that the department or agency you are currently working for will also have their own essential training. Your manager will let you know what specific training you might need in addition to the list below.

Before you begin

To access learning products from the Canada School of Public Service (CSPS), you need to set up an account on the CSPS learning platform. There is no cost to having an account.

You can log into the CSPS website from a personal or a work device. To access your certificates and awards for any completed CSPS courses, click on the My learning tab in the top navigation bar of the learning platform.

The following list of learning resources will help you become familiar with the essentials of working as a public servant. It includes some key resources about working in a digital environment and covers other important common practices.

These foundational courses include videos, virtual instructor-led courses and online, self-paced courses.
